PRIORITIES

CONNECTED GREEN SPACES

Discover. Protect. Enjoy

  • Enhance trail mapping and wayfinding so residents can more easily discover and access our parks, pathways and natural spaces.
  • Identify gaps in the existing network and explore practical opportunities to better connect neighbourhoods, green spaces and the waterfront for seamless exploration.
  • Protect and preserve natural areas for future generations.
  • Work with the Town’s Parks and Open Space Master Plan to ensure our green spaces are maintained and enhanced.
  • Look for opportunities to connect the green spaces we already have rather than reinventing them.

COMMUNICATION & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Clear Information. A Stronger Ward 2

  • Bring back regular Ward 2 Town Hall meetings on key projects and issues.
  • Provide clear, timely updates on project timelines, costs and decision points.
  • Work with Town staff to make technical municipal information easier to understand.
  • Identify when public input is needed and make sure residents know how and when to participate.
  • Use multiple channels;  in-person meetings, online communication and social media to keep Ward 2 informed.
  • No surprises. No municipal jargon. No finding out after the decision.

KEEPING UP ON THE KERR

A Vibrant, Historic & Connected Core

A SAFER WARD 2

  • Work with Town staff and experts on coyote deterrence, education and safe-use strategies.
  • Address speeding, stunt driving and illegal e-scooter use through data, enforcement, traffic calming and education.
  • Take a safety-first approach to emerging transportation options.

LION’S POOL & TRAFALGAR PARK

A South Oakville Community Destination

  • Improve facilities, accessibility and amenities to create a stronger seasonal community destination for families and visitors.
  • Build on the infrastructure we already have, looking at how the existing facilities and public space can be repurposed or enhanced where feasible.
  • Explore long-term options to enhance Lions Pool and the surrounding untouched areas at Trafalgar Park.
  • Align recreation investments with the nearby Kerr Village revitalization and surrounding businesses to create a more connected, vibrant community.

FOURTH LINE TO DORVAL

Clarity. Progress. A Clear Path Forward

  • Keep the project moving and hold the Town accountable for communicating changes to timelines and construction plans.
  • Ensure the planned active transportation improvements, sidewalks and lighting create safer connections for pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Make sure new traffic signals and intersection improvements improve safety and traffic flow.
  • Coordinate road, watermain and wastewater work to minimize disruption and avoid unnecessary future construction.
